Right-of-way surveys typically pose the most challenge to our clients in terms of technical and data collection obstacles. DAI’s survey teams combine superior technical skills and old-fashioned attention to detail resulting in accurate, thorough and reliable mapping.
Right-of-way surveys include a preliminary and final phase. Preliminaries include research and field work to establish control points via static GPS methods, setting the panel points for aerial flights, and/or increasing the density controls using RTK data collection.
The right-of-way development phase involves property ownership verification, obtaining right-of-entry, researching deeds, and creating a deed map. After these steps are completed, the final right-of-way procedures include preparing a boundary analysis based on found monumentation; mapping the existing right-of-way and property lines that are set along the proposed route; and finally, preparing the parcels, writing parcel descriptions and mapping the new right-of-way boundaries along the final alignment or route.
