DAI conducts boundary surveys and provides boundary survey maps. Creating a boundary survey map begins with research to determine legal property ownership, locate the adjoining property owners, in addition to locating existing platted additions, utility data, improvements, encumbrances and easements affecting the property.
DAI then creates a preliminary ownership map. After obtaining right-of-entry, DAI establishes the horizontal control traverses in order to locate and monument the legal property boundaries. Then DAI prepares a preliminary boundary map and ties in items such as field encroachments or protrusions. After writing legal descriptions, DAI conducts the last phase—staking the property monuments, or boundaries.
